Tato norma stanovi pristroj a postup pro zjisteni odolnosti kovovych povrchu proti korozi a cernani v atmosfere obsahujici tekave sulfidy. Pri stanoveni sa postupuje v souladu se specifikacemi na prislusny povlak nebo vyrobek. Metodu lze pouzit ke zjisteni ucinnosti opatreni proti cernani stribra nebo medi a ke zjisteni nesouvislosti povlaku drahych kovu na techto kovech.
