Processing of the charging of goods consignments on international services by means of electronic computer systems makes it necessary to stipulate which of the procedures laid down in the CIM is to be used for recovering transport charges. Each of the procedures corresponds to a numerical coding, which gives a precise indication of the conditions governing the consignment as far as instructions concerning the method of payment are concerned.
