1.1 This test method covers the determination of the gas content of electrical insulating oils of low and medium viscosities in the general range of 100 SUS and below at 100°F (37.8°C), and is suitable for field or laboratory use. Note 1—For testing insulating oils with viscosities above 100 SUS, see Test Method D 831. For individual gas concentrations, see Method D 3612. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
