Tato evropská norma specifikuje metodu chromatografického stanovení železa chelatovaného každým individuálním orto(hydroxy)-orto(hydroxy) izomerem chelatačního činidla [o,o] EDDHA, [o,o] EDDHMA a HBED v hnojivech obsahujících jednu nebo více těchto látek, kromě směsí [o,o] EDDHMA a HBED. Tato metoda umožňuje identifikaci a stanovení celkové koncentrace vodorozpustného železa chelatovaného těmito chelatačními činidly. Také, po derivatizaci pomocí Fe, může být stanoveno rozpuštěné množství chelatačního činidla, jsou-li jiné mikroelementy mimo Fe, přítomny v hnojivech obsahujících [o,o] EDDHA, [o,o] EDDHMA nebo HBED.
Tato metoda je použitelná pro hnojiva ES uvedená v nařízení (ES) č. 2003/2003 [4]. Je použitelná pro stanovení hmotnostního zlomku chelatovaného kovu nejméně 0,625 %
