Tato mezinárodní norma specifikuje postupy, které mají být dodrženy Registračním orgánem při přípravě, udržování a vydávání Mezinárodního registru atributů a jednoho nebo více Mezinárodních registrů identifikátorů struktury nosiče a souboru (viz příloha A, kde je Mezinárodní registr popsán) pro použití s platnými normami.
