IEC 61158-3-4:2023 provides common elements for basic time-critical messaging communications between devices in an automation environment. The term "time-critical" is used to represent the presence of a time-window, within which one or more specified actions are required to be completed with some defined level of certainty. Failure to complete specified actions within the time window risks failure of the applications requesting the actions, with attendant risk to equipment, plant and possibly human life. This document defines in an abstract way the externally visible services provided by the Type 4 fieldbus data-link layer in terms of the primitive actions and events of the services; the parameters associated with each primitive action and event, and the form which they take; and the interrelationship between these actions and events, and their valid sequences. The purpose of this document is to define the services provided to the Type 4 fieldbus application layer at the boundary between the application and data-link layers of the fieldbus reference model; systems management at the boundary between the data-link layer and systems management of the fieldbus reference model. L’IEC 61158-3-4:2023 fournit les elements communs pour les communications de messagerie prioritaires entre les appareils d’un environnement d’automatisation. Le terme "prioritaire" est utilise pour indiquer la presence d’une fenetre temporelle, dans laquelle il est exige de realiser une ou plusieurs actions specifiees selon un niveau defini de certitude. La non-realisation des actions specifiees dans la fenetre temporelle induit un risque de defaillance des applications qui demandent ces actions, avec les risques qui en decoulent pour l’equipement, les installations et eventuellement la vie humaine. Le present document definit de maniere abstraite les services visibles externes fournis par la couche liaison de donnees de bus de terrain de type 4, concernant: les actions et evenements lies aux primitives du service; les parametres associes a chaque action et evenement de primitive, ainsi que la forme prise par ces parametres; et l’interrelation entre ces actions et evenements, et leurs sequences valides. Le present document a pour objet de definir les services fournis: la couche application de bus de terrain de type 4 a la limite entre les couches application et liaison de donnees du modele de reference de bus de terrain; la gestion-systeme a la frontiere entre la couche liaison de donnees et la gestion-systeme du modele de reference de bus de terrain.
